***update-8:45am- This young child has been identified and his mom is on her way to pick him up. As many in the comments have stated, Autistic children like to wander. Please don't judge this family without knowing the circumstances. Thank you to everyone who had the suggestions to help and thank you to everyone who shared this post. We do appreciate that our community steps up every time we have a lost child to get them home safe as soon as possible.
**original post-Good morning Amarillo, we need your help identifying this found child. He was walking near the civic center and taken in by employees out of the cold this morning. He has a backpack full of brand-new school supplies. He can't tell us his name or who he is. He does speak English but he might be on the spectrum. If you know him, please call the AECC at 806-378-3038, option 2.
We are checking all the AISD and area schools with his picture to see if they can identify him, but so far, no luck.
