DATE/TIME: October 13, 2025, 11:26 P.M.
INCIDENT: DUI Collision and Arrest
LOCATION: 8300 block of Third Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Salvador Uribe, 32 yoa, resident of Hesperia
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On October 13, 2025, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Deputies Prince and Hawkins from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a major collision in the 8300 block of Third Avenue. Investigators determined a 2024 Lexus ES300, driven by Salvador Uribe, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway. The vehicle first struck a chain-link fence, continued through a yard, and collided with a Southern California Edison power pole, shearing it completely from its base and leaving it suspended by live power lines. The Lexus then plowed through an additional section of fencing before coming to rest just short of a residence. A metal fence post was found impaled through the windshield and passenger window, underscoring the extreme force of the crash and how narrowly it avoided becoming a fatal collision.
The sole occupant and driver, Salvador Uribe, was trapped in the wreckage. Deputy Prince assisted Uribe out of the damaged vehicle.
Deputies detected the odor of alcohol in the vehicle and from Uribe himself. Uribe displayed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Uribe consented to a Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) test and provided a breath sample indicating he was nearly three times over the legal limit.
A nearby surveillance camera captured the incident in its entirety, showing Uribe’s vehicle speeding down the roadway before losing control and violently crashing. Records show Uribe has a prior DUI arrest in 2023. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Uribe was medically cleared for booking and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, driving with a BAC of 0.08% or more, and driving while on a suspended. Uribe was booked at High Desert Detention Center.
