INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Baseline Street & McKinley Avenue, Highland
Driver 1: 24-year-old, Hispanic Male Adult (Deceased), Highland Resident
Vehicle 1: Gray, 2007 Infiniti G35
Passenger: 21-year-old, Hispanic Female Adult (Deceased), San Bernardino Resident
Driver 2: 26-year-old, Hispanic Male Adult, Highland Resident
Vehicle 2: Gray, 2017 Mazda 3
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 1:45 p.m., deputies from the Highland Police Department, Highland Fire Department and medical personnel from American Medical Response, responded to the area of Baseline Street and McKinley Avenue for a three-vehicle traffic collision. The collision involved a gray Infiniti sedan, a gray Mazda sedan, and a white Toyota sedan.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) were on scene and conducted the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined Driver 1 entered opposing traffic at a high rate of speed and collided head on with Driver 2. Debris from the collision struck a nearby vehicle, which resulted in minor damage.
The male and female occupants of the Infiniti were declared deceased at the scene of the collision by medical personnel. Driver 2 was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Driver 2 was travellng with two dogs and both dogs died at the scene. Animal Control responded and took custody of the dogs.
