The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) would like to share the following updates:
- The field at Watkins Recreation Center (420 12th Street, SE) will REOPEN on Monday, October 20, 2025, with resurfacing complete.
- Kingsman Field and Dog Park (D St NE, between 13th St & Tennessee Ave NE) will CLOSE for park upgrades beginning Monday, October 20, 2025. These upgrades will include a complete renovation of the existing dog park, upgrades to the basketball court, improvements to fencing, and new wayfinding signage.
During the closure, residents are encouraged to visit other DPR dog parks. A full list of locations is available on the DPR website:
