Historic Move Alert! The Thorington Schoolhouse is on the Move!
We are proud to announce that the historic Thorington Schoolhouse move will take place on Wednesday, October 22 at 9:00 a.m.!
Road closures will be in effect at 31 Mile and Mound Road during the move.
Shuttle buses will be available for those who wish to watch this momentous occasion — park at Greystone Golf & Banquet Center between 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to view the move up close at the intersection.

This project has been years in the making, and I want to sincerely thank our Township Board members, Romeo Community Schools, and all of the dedicated volunteers who helped make this historic preservation possible.
Together, we’re ensuring that the 1840s Thorington Schoolhouse will continue to stand proudly in our community for generations to come — soon to be located at its beautiful new home in Thorington Park on 31 Mile Road.
