Planned Prescribed Burn Oct 22, 2025 – Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve

CAL FIRE and the City of Healdsburg Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn of up to 35 acres in the Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, weather and conditions permitting.

Operations are expected to begin mid-morning and continue through the day. Additional work and patrols may occur Thursday, October 23, to ensure the area is fully secured.

What to Expect:
Smoke may be visible in and around Healdsburg for 2–3 days.

The Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve will be closed to the public during operations.

Please avoid the area and respect all posted closures and signage.

This prescribed burn is part of an ongoing fuel-reduction and wildfire-resilience effort coordinated by CAL FIRE, the City of Healdsburg Fire Department, and the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District.

Prescribed burns are conducted under strict conditions to ensure public safety, smoke management, and ecological benefit.
