Nature of Incident: Camarillo Police Department’s 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat @ Halloween in the Park

Location: Camarillo Community Center, 1605 Burnley Street, Camarillo
Date & Time: 10/29/2025 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Unit(s) Responsible: Camarillo Police Department Community Resources Unit

Narrative:

The Camarillo Police Department is proud to announce our third annual Trunk or Treat event for Halloween this year, joining forces with the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District and the City of Camarillo to host a combined event “Halloween in the Park and Trunk or Treat”.  The event will take place at a new larger location this year, the Camarillo Community Center, located at 1605 Burnley Street. The event will be on Wednesday, 10/29/2025, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM.

Join us for a fun evening, where several community partners will adorn their cars in Halloween decorations and pass out candy to kids.  The Sheriff’s Office, Ventura County Fire Department and AMR will also be present to hand out candy and stickers.  They’ll be bringing resources and vehicles to display including an armored vehicle, police car, police motorcycle, sheriff’s K9, sheriff’s off-road vehicle, an ambulance and a Ventura County fire engine.

This event is intended to be a free, family-friendly event, and appropriate for all ages.  Our goal is to create a safe place where everyone can dress up in costumes and enjoy themselves this Halloween. In addition to the Trunk or Treat, the event will feature food trucks, crafts, games, and a costume contest, making it a can’t miss Halloween celebration for all ages.

Camarillo Police Chief Eric Tennessen stated, “We are excited to host our third annual trunk or treat with so many amazing community partners.  The last two years have been such a success that we needed to expand our event and change the location.  Although we won’t be using the police station this year, our team couldn’t be more excited to join Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District’s Halloween in the Park.  Combining two great Halloween events into one will create one of the best Halloween events in Ventura County and I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District’s General Manager Mary Otten stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with the Camarillo Police Department and the City of Camarillo to bring this larger, combined event to the community.  By working together, we’re able to create an even more exciting and safe environment for families to celebrate Halloween.  It’s a great example of how collaborations make our community stronger – and more fun!”

The Camarillo Police Department would like to say thank you in advance to our wonderful community partners, Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District staff, and fellow first responders for helping make this event a success. Mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you there!
