Alert

Special Weather Statement until 07:00PM

Dry and windy conditions return to the area today behind a departing cold front. Afternoon relative humidity values are expected to drop into the 25-30% range with intermittent wind gusts up to 15-20 mph. This, combined with dry fuel conditions, will result in increased fire danger across western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution, as fires can spread rapidly under these conditions.
