Family of Peter Martin Issues Missing Person Appeal Ahead of Hunting Season
MEDIA RELEASE: October 21, 2025

Help Us Find Peter Martin: Hunters Urged to Stay Alert This Season

As hunting season returns, the family of Peter Martin, a Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Tribal member who has been missing since March 8, 2024, is asking for the community’s continued help.

Peter was last seen in Brookston, Minnesota, in the Mahnomen neighborhood of the Fond du Lac Reservation. While his exact whereabouts remain unknown, this area and the surrounding region remain of particular interest.

All hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, who often traverse remote areas that others do not, are asked to stay alert. These places may hold clues. Peter’s family urges everyone spending time in the woods this season to remain extra observant and report anything unusual that could help bring answers to his loved ones.

If you find any clues, such as clothing, remains, or suspicious items, please follow these steps:

  • Do not approach or disturb anything.
  • Mark your location using GPS.
  • Immediately contact law enforcement for support.

Peter’s disappearance has deeply affected his family and the Fond du Lac Band community. Any media coverage during this season could make a vital difference. Even a brief mention may reach someone who knows something. The family asks all media outlets, social media users, and community leaders to help amplify this message.
