Wilmington Police arrest man on gun and drug charges:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in October, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into 34-year-old Dawune Boardley for illegal drug sales. On October 21, at approximately 11:01 a.m., police attempted to make contact with Boardley in the 2200 block of North Pine Street, at which time he fled on a bicycle. Following a brief pursuit, Boardley was taken into custody without further incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and 25 Alprazolam pills.
Boardley has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Resisting Arrest
