Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, October 29, 2025
 
• Muhammad Ali Avenue between Bergen Street and Irvine Turner Boulevard
• Livingston Street between 18th Avenue and Rose Street
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Muhammad Ali Avenue and Livingston Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
