Police Seek Help Identifying Adams Street Robbery Suspects
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the two below-pictured male suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred on Friday, October 17, 2025.
A victim reported that at approximately 5:30 a.m., he was walking in the 100 block of Adams Street when he was approached from behind by three suspects who demanded his cash. The victim told the suspects that he had no money. At that point, Suspect 1 struck him on the head with a black handgun. All three suspects then fled, heading southbound on Adams Street.
The victim arrived at the 3rd Precinct to report the incident. Police canvassing the area in search of the suspects was alerted by a concerned citizen that the suspects had attempted to rob another person in the area.
Mahrie Motley, 24, of Newark, was identified as Suspect 1. He was taken into custody by Police, and faces charges of robbery, conspiracy, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Detectives investigating this incident seek help identifying the two other male robbery suspects.
