On October 25, 2025 at approximately 1208 hours, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Sequoia Avenue and Darby Street reference a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.  Upon arrival, officers located a male, who had been driving an electric bike, had sustained significant/life threatening injuries. The driver of the E-bike, Janes Nownes (09-07-41), was transported to Los Robles Hospital for treatment.  According to the initial information and the preliminary investigation, it appears that the E-Bike driven by Nownes swerved directly into the path of a vehicle driving Northbound Sequoia Avenue. The E-Bike struck the side of the vehicle, causing minor damage, however, Nownes was  thrown from the E-Bike.
