Dense Fog Advisory until 10:00AM

* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. For the High Wind Watch, east winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

* WHERE...Ketchikan Gateway Borough.

* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 10 AM AKDT this morning. For the High Wind Watch, from Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...High winds could blow around unsecured objects, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult. Hazardous travel conditions due to low visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For the high wind, confidence has increased on a low pressure centered tracking north towards the southern panhandle. This pattern usually brings elevated sustained winds across SE AK and high wind gusts, upwards of 60 mph, to the southern panhandle. Current peak gusts are projected to happen late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. If the low continues to track farther north, the watch may need to be expanded.

* AFFECTED AREAS: KETCHIKAN GATEWAY BOROUGH

People are urged to secure vessels and loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
