Franklin County OEMC Launches New Mobile App to Enhance Public Safety and Community Preparedness

The Franklin County Office of Emergency Management & Communications (OEMC) is proud to announce the launch of its new mobile application, designed to improve communication, increase public safety, and provide residents with critical information at their fingertips.

The OEMC mobile app serves as a one-stop platform for emergency alerts, preparedness resources, and community updates. Residents will be able to receive real-time notifications about severe weather, road closures, and public safety incidents, as well as access emergency plans, shelter locations, and safety tips.

“This app represents an important step forward in how we connect with the public and ensure timely, accurate information during both everyday situations and large-scale emergencies,” said Director Ryan M. Buckingham. “By leveraging mobile technology, we are giving our residents and visitors a two-way communications platform to stay informed and prepared.”

Key features of the OEMC mobile app include:

Real-Time Alerts – Instant notifications for weather warnings, public safety emergencies, and important county updates.

Preparedness Resources – Checklists, guides, and planning tools for families, businesses, and community organizations.

Interactive Tools – Quick access to report non-emergency issues, find emergency contacts, and view local hazard information.

Community Information – Updates on events, training opportunities, and public safety initiatives.

The app is available for free download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by searching “Franklin County OEMC”.
