A Heat Advisory is in effect for Culver City from Tuesday, October 28 at 10:00 AM through Wednesday, October 29 at 7:00 PM. Extreme heat can be dangerous for anyone, especially older adults, young children, and individuals with access and functional needs, as well as those taking medication for chronic health conditions.

Take steps to stay safe:

• Stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity during peak heat.

• Identify places to stay cool. The Culver City Senior Center is a designated cooling zone during regular hours (Mon-Friday; 9AM-5PM). Additional cooling locations can be found at ready.lacounty.gov/heat.
  

In addition, Santa Ana winds are expected to develop late Monday night, October 27, through Wednesday, October 29, with gusts of 30–40 mph possible across western Los Angeles County and nearby foothills. These dry and windy conditions may bring elevated fire danger and Red Flag Warnings.

Residents are urged to:

• Secure any outdoor items which may move due to high winds.

• Avoid any spark-creating activities such as outdoor grilling or using power tools in dry brush areas, and report smoke or fire immediately to 9-1-1.
