The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2025:
 
11:08 AM Field Training Officer (FTO) S. Torres & Officer Ansari responded to a residential burglary reported near Cherry St & Dairy Ave. Loss included identifying documents, electronics, jewelry, and personal possessions.
 
10:45 PM Officer Kim conducted a pedestrian stop near Mowry Avenue & Alpenrose Court. A 49-year-old female was arrested for outstanding warrants. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
3:59 PM Officers investigated a mail theft report near Hickory St & Seawind Way.  
 
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2025:
 
1:17 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a window smash vehicle burglary on Edgewater Dr. The interior was ransacked, and trunk was left open. Loss is unknown at this time.  
 
5:28 AM Officer Kim responded to an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert of a stolen vehicle entering the city. The vehicle was recovered on Sycamore St.
 
7:43 AM FTO Quinonez and Officer Jou recovered a stolen vehicle near Moores Ave & Cedar Blvd.
 
8:46 AM Officer Lor responded to a stolen vehicle reported on Mayhews Landing Road. The vehicle was recovered and released to the owner.
 
9:59 AM Officer Jou investigated a vehicle burglary near Cedar Blvd & Mowry School Road. Reported loss included personal accessories and a car key.
 
11:50 AM Officer Orozco investigated the theft of vehicle parts reported near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave.
 
2:24 PM Officer Jou investigated a mailbox theft near Hickory St & Seawind Way.
 
11:18 PM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a vehicle burglary on Newpark Mall Road. Reported loss included a bag containing electronics.
 
11:34 PM Officer Norvell responded to a vehicle burglary reported on Newpark Mall Road. Loss included a bag containing electronics.
 
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2025:
 
12:02 AM Officer Jackman responded to a vehicle theft reported near Thornton Ave & Cherry St.
 
12:03 AM Officer Felix investigated a package theft from the area of Cherry St & Sea Turtle Ave.
 
4:05 PM Officer Berlanga investigated a retail theft reported near Newark Blvd & Mayhews Landing Road. A 37-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2025:
 
4:01 AM Officer Berlanga investigated a vehicle theft from the area of Cherry St & Mowry Ave.
 
9:29 AM Officer Benjamin investigated a residential burglary on Timber St.  
 
12:12 PM Officer Felix was dispatched to a report of vandalism near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd. A 47-year-old male was arrested for vandalism and battery. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2025:
 
5:36 AM Officer Jou investigated a window smash vehicle burglary on Newpark Mall Road. Tools were reported taken from the vehicle.
 
9:59 AM Officer Benjamin investigated a commercial burglary reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. Loss included a cash register and electronics.
 
11:51 AM Officer Felix arrested a 44-year-old male for an outstanding warrant. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
2:22 PM Officer Shaffer conducted a pedestrian stop near Cedar & Stevenson Boulevards. A 39-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of narcotics. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
5:30 PM Community Service Officer (CSO) Mora investigated a vandalism to a vehicle reported near Thornton Ave & Olive St.
 
6:41 PM CSO Mora responded to a package theft reported near Central Ave & Willow St.
 
9:33 PM Officers responded to a commercial robbery involving a firearm near Newark Blvd & Jarvis Ave. Reported loss included a phone and wallets.
 
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2025:
 
2:09 AM Officer Soto conducted a pedestrian stop near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 33-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication; he was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
11:23 AM Officer Shaffer responded to a stolen vehicle alert near Cedar & Stevenson Boulevards. A 33-year-old male was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
5:13 PM Officers were dispatched to a residential burglary near Cherry St & Brush Rabbit Ave. The loss is currently unknown.
 
5:36 PM Officer Ansari responded to a bicycle theft reported near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd.
 
7:23 PM Officers investigated multiple hit and run collisions near Zulmida & Noel Avenues.
 
9:30 PM Officer Kim investigated a retail theft reported near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd.
 
10:06 PM Officer Swadener conducted a traffic stop near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 33-year-old male was cited for possession of narcotics.
 
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2025:
 
10:57 AM Officer Ansari investigated a suspicious vehicle reported near Potrero Dr & Buena Vista Dr. The vehicle was determined to be stolen and was returned to the owner. During the investigation, officers determined another vehicle theft occurred in the area.
 
9:08 PM Officer Kim responded to a battery reported near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd. A 39-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence, possession of stolen property, and a felon in possession of a firearm. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
11:19 PM Officer Stevenson investigated multiple vehicle burglaries near Mowry Ave & Alpenrose Ct.  Reported losses includede bags containing electronics and other personal valuables.
