A coastal storm is expected to impact our area on Thursday, October 30, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. High winds are expected to continue through Friday, October 31. Please take precautions now to help reduce potential hazards:

• Secure materials and decorations: Construction materials and outdoor decorations should be secured or brought inside to prevent them from becoming airborne.

• Move leaf piles: When raking leaves, place loose leaves in the street about 6 inches from the curb and at least 10 feet from storm drains to allow proper water flow and help reduce flooding.

• Relocate vehicles: Avoid parking in flood-prone areas, especially near the lakes. Move vehicles to higher ground away from trees and other hazards.

• Report downed wires immediately by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or 911.
