INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Monte Vista Road/Luna Road, Victorville
INVOLVED PARTY: Michael Hernandez Gonzales, 43, Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 07:47 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station, rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a semi-truck, versus vehicle, traffic collision which occurred near the intersection of Monte Vista Road and Luna Road in the city of Victorville.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a male, later identified as Michael Hernandez Gonzales, drove a truck-tractor hauling dirt to a local construction zone. Michael Hernandez Gonzales dropped off the load of dirt and suffered a medical emergency as he drove onto the roadway. Michael was unable to maintain control of the truck-tractor and crashed into a parked vehicle and veered to the left across the roadway onto the dirt shoulder of Monte Vista Road where the truck-tractor came to rest.
Michael was unresponsive on scene and transported to a nearby trauma center where he was pronounced deceased. Deputies from the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
Monte Vista Road between Bear Valley Road and Luna Road was closed for several hours for the investigation.
