Storm Update & Traffic Advisory: Grove Street closed until further notice; Hop cancelled; Report power outages

Grove Street between 18th Street in Jersey City and Observer Highway has been temporarily closed until further notice. Southwest Hoboken is experiencing significant traffic congestion, and drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes to the north if traveling.

Residents are reminded to avoid traveling and stay off the roads if possible. Stalled vehicles can impede emergency response times.  

The City has temporarily suspended the Red, Blue, and Green Hop shuttle bus service due to the storm. 

The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management reminds residents to avoid flood-prone areas. Intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding in low-lying areas, and more than 1.5 inches of rain just fell. Do not walk through floodwaters or drive around barricades or through flooded areas. Barricades have been deployed. Do not walk or drive around barricades or through flooded areas. Please report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the NHSA Hotline at (866) 689-3970. 

Report power outages 

The City and PSE&G are aware of reports of sporadic power outages in the area and PSE&G is working to address them. If you are experiencing a power outage, please report them at https://nj.myaccount.pseg.com/myservicepublic/outagepublic.
