The Sierra Madre Police Department will have extra patrols throughout the evening to ensure a safe and enjoyable Halloween for all. If you see something, say something. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
Halloween Safety Tips from Chief Barrientos 
As families prepare for a fun night of trick-or-treating, the Sierra Madre Police Department reminds everyone to stay alert and make safety a priority.
Road Closures:
- Sierra Madre Boulevard from 2pm-5:30pm between Lima Avenue and Baldwin Avenue
- Kersting Court from 2pm-5:30pm
- Baldwin Avenue from 2pm-5:30pm between Sierra Madre Boulevard and Highland Avenue
- Hermosa Avenue from 2pm-7pm between Sierra Madre Boulevard and Mariposa Avenue
- Alegria Avenue from 4:30pm-10:30pm between Baldwin Avenue and Mountain Trail
For Parents and Trick-or-Treaters:
- Walk on sidewalks and use crosswalks, avoid walking in the street when possible.
- Carry a flashlight or glow sticks to increase visibility.
- Remind children to look both ways before crossing the street and never walk/run between parked cars.
- Avoid wearing masks that limit vision—use face paint or makeup instead.
For Drivers:
- Drive slowly and stay alert in residential areas, expect excited children to appear unexpectedly.
- Eliminate distractions and keep your headlights on early in the evening for better visibility.
- Watch carefully for children crossing mid-block or running across driveways.
For Residents:
- Keep front yards and walkways well-lit and clear of obstacles.
- Secure pets to avoid accidental scares or escapes.
