The City of Carmi has implemented an updated after-hours on-call menu to streamline service and enhance response times.
This dedicated menu is active Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and all day on weekends. When calling during these hours, you will be prompted as follows:
Thank you for calling Carmi Light and Water; our office is currently closed (regular hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday). If your service was disconnected due to non-payment, an after-hours reconnection requires a $100.00 fee plus your past-due bill amount.
Press 1 to leave a non-urgent message
For after-hours emergency service
Press 2 for a power outage
Press 3 for a water leak
Press 4 for a sewer issue
Press 5 for all other emergencies
Press 6 to repeat these options
These updates ensure your call is routed to the correct department immediately, which helps the City manage call volume and expedite assistance, particularly during major service disruptions.

Power Reconnection Fees
Please note the following charges for reconnection due to non-payment:
During Office Hours: A $25.00 reconnection fee will apply.
After Office Hours: A $100.00 reconnection fee will apply.
If your service was disconnected due to non-payment, the fee plus your past-due bill amount must be paid before service can be restored.
