Halloween Activity with High Pedestrian Traffic. Obey Parking Prohibitions and Drive With Care.
As Halloween falls at the beginning of a weekend this year, we expect higher than normal foot traffic this afternoon into this evening. The Cranford Police Department warns motorists of the following:
- OBEY ALL PARKING PROHIBITIONS.
- If you are visiting an area, do not park within 25' of an intersection or crosswalk, within 10' of a fire hydrant, or within 50' of a stop sign. Violations will be strictly enforced.
- USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS.
- As this is a weekday, normal commuting will occur especially into the afternoon and evening hours. Watch for young pedestrians crossing the roadway.
- PARENTS - ADVISE YOUR CHILDREN TO CROSS AT CROSSWALKS AND INTERSECTIONS - NOT MIDBLOCK.
- Ensure that Halloween Costumes worn by your children do not block their full vision.
- WHEN WALKING, STAY ON SIDEWALKS.
- If there are no sidewalks, keep to the side of the road and, when possible, walk against traffic along the curbing.
