Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On October 29, at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 200 block of North DuPont Street. Police made contact with the driver – 32-year-old Jhavon Goode. Following a brief investigation, police took Goode into custody without incident and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 11.25 grams of crack cocaine. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in the 3900 block of Sussex Drive and recovered an additional 104 grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Goode has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $110,000 cash-only bail.
