Caution this Halloween Evening Due to Strong Wind Conditions
From the Teaneck Police Department
High Winds & Halloween Safety Alert
The Teaneck Police Department is advising all residents to use extra caution this Halloween evening due to strong wind conditions currently affecting the area.
Several large trees have already fallen, and additional limbs or debris may continue to come down as winds persist. These conditions can pose hazards to pedestrians and drivers, especially during trick-or-treating hours.
Safety Tips:
-
Avoid walking near large trees, wooded areas, or downed wires.
-
Secure outdoor decorations and any loose items that could blow into streets or sidewalks.
-
Carry flashlights or glow sticks to improve visibility.
-
Keep costumes and accessories close-fitting to prevent them from catching in the wind.
-
Motorists should drive slowly and remain alert for children crossing the street.
-
Consider completing trick-or-treating earlier in the evening before wind gusts increase.
Please use caution, plan ahead, and help keep our community safe.
