Detective Aaron Vallini with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 59-year-old Rick Lynn Messer of Marion with 3 counts of Felony Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and 6 counts of Felony Secret Peeping. He was given a secured bond of $250,000.
In April, detectives conducted an investigation regarding inappropriate contact between a female juvenile and Messer.
During the investigation, detectives found inappropriate photos of underage females taken by Messer, along with multiple internet searches and downloads of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
