Officer’s late-night patrol leads to arrest for methamphetamine possession and drug paraphernalia.
San Mateo, CA – On October 30, 2025, at approximately 11:53 p.m., a San Mateo police officer patrolling the 1900 block of South Delaware Street contacted two adult males at the Arco Gas Station, located at 1950 S. Delaware Street.
During the contact, officers searched Darren Stuart, who was holding an orange prescription bottle containing a plastic bag with a crystalline substance. The substance later tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Officers also located two glass smoking pipes containing burned residue: one in Stuart’s pants pocket and another inside the center console of his vehicle.
A records check revealed Stuart had two prior convictions for drug possession. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia.
The San Mateo Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement efforts to address narcotics-related activity and to maintain the safety of our community.
