SNAP Benefits Update
A Federal Judge has ordered the U.S. Department of Agriculture to continue distributing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the federal shutdown using contingency funds.
Therefore, SNAP benefit balances may not appear on Families First EBT cards for several days. For official updates, residents should visit nj211.org/njsnap.
Residents who use SNAP benefits should also check their EBT balance before shopping.
To prevent fraud, only trust information from official sources. No one should call, text, or email to request personal information relating to SNAP benefits. Residents should not provide any information in response to unsolicited messages or calls.
