The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2025:
 
12:04 AM Officers responded to a collision near Newark Blvd and Thornton Ave. A 21-year-old female was arrested for driving under the influence and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
7:36 AM Officer Berlanga investigated a vandalism reported on the 37300 block of Ash Street.
 
12:43 PM Officer Jackman investigated an investment scam via Facebook. The reported loss is approximately $400,000.
 
1:35 PM Officer Berlanga investigated a stolen vehicle reported near Cedar Blvd and Joaquin Murieta Ave.
 
8:31 PM Officer Dale investigated a theft from a business near Mowry Ave and Cedar Blvd. A 27-year-old male was later arrested for burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
10:07 PM Officer Diaz-Perez responded to an attempted auto burglary and brandishing of a weapon reported near Bettencourt St and Shorehaven Ave. This investigation is ongoing.
 
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2025:
 
12:31 AM While conducting a security check in the area, officers located a vehicle doing donuts in the Newpark Mall parking lot. An 18-year-old male was cited for reckless driving and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
 
4:45 AM Officer Cervantes investigated a vehicle burglary reported near Locust St and Redbud Ct. Miscellaneous tools were reported taken.
 
7:04 AM Officers investigated a commercial burglary reported near Mirabeau Dr and Orleans Dr.
 
7:15 AM Officer Jou investigated a window smash vehicle burglary that occurred overnight near Mandarin Ave and Acorn Pl. Loss is currently unknown.
 
8:14 AM Officer Lor investigated an attempted vehicle theft reported near Marguerite Dr and Moores Ave.
 
8:44 AM Officer Jou investigated a stolen vehicle reported near Levi St and Quartz Pl. The vehicle was later recovered by a nearby agency.
 
3:27 PM Officer Felix investigated a package theft reported near Pontoon Way and Watersail Way.
 
5:15 PM Officer Orozco investigated a package theft reported near Enterprise Dr and Seawind Way.
 
7:43 PM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a stolen vehicle reported near Seawind and Cool Breeze Way. The vehicle was later recovered.
 
10:47 PM Officer Norvell investigated multiple vehicle burglaries reported near Mowry Ave and Alpenrose Ct.
 
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2025:
 
8:35 AM Officers investigated a window smash vehicle burglary near Stevenson Blvd and Balentine Dr. Reported loss included a purse containing a wallet.
 
10:47 AM Officer Berlanga investigated a report of embezzlement.
 
2:30 PM Officer Shaffer responded to a report of battery on Spruce Street.
 
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2025:
 
7:22 AM Officer Benjamin investigated a vehicle burglary reported on Dumbarton Ct.
 
11:08 AM Officer Medina responded to a battery report near Newark Blvd and Jarvis Ave.
 
1:04 PM Officer Medina recovered a stolen vehicle near McDonald Ave and Sandalwood St.
 
10:54 PM Officers responded to a disturbance near Cedar Blvd and Joaquin Murieta Ave.
 
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2025:
 
1:38 PM Officer Benjamin cited a 27-year-old female for possession of drug paraphernalia near Newark Blvd and Jarvis Ave.
 
2:55 PM Officer Benjamin investigated a battery report near Mowry Ave and Alpenrose Ct.
 
7:55 PM Community Service Officer (CSO) Mora investigated a vehicle burglary near Balentine Dr and Mowry School Rd. The lockbox was tampered with and reported loss included a security camera.  
 
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2025:
 
9:21 AM Officer Ansari investigated a window smash vehicle burglary that happened overnight on Newpark Mall Rd.
 
2:22 PM Officer Lomeli investigated an imposter scam. The reported loss is over $200,000 in cash.  
 
3:34 PM Officer Ansari investigated a vandalism to a vehicle reported near Tourraine Dr and Castillon Dr.
 
9:06 PM While conducting a security check near Stevenson and Cedar Boulevards, officers located and arrested three individuals for possession of narcotics. They were transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2025:
 
12:01 AM Officers Losier & Shaffer conducted a pedestrian stop near Cedar Blvd and Balentine Dr. A 42-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of narcotics. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
6:40 AM While conducting a security check near Thornton Ave and Blacow Rd. Officer Ansari located and arrested a 51-year-old male for outstanding warrants. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
9:06 PM Officer Kim conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Thornton Ave and Magnolia St. The driver, a 27-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of a firearm. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
