Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests for Warrants, Drug Paraphernalia, and Loaded Firearm

On November 3, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Simi Valley Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Fifth Street and East Los Angeles Avenue for not displaying any license plates.
The driver initially provided officers with a false name and date of birth but was later identified as 33-year-old Ignacio Sanchez, a Simi Valley resident. A records check revealed Sanchez had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
During the investigation, Sanchez admitted there was drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Officers conducted a search and located the paraphernalia, along with a loaded firearm in the glovebox. The front passenger, 37-year-old Ashley Livingston, also a Simi Valley resident, admitted the firearm belonged to her.
Sanchez was arrested for his outstanding warrants, as well as for Providing False Identification to a Peace Officer (148.9 PC) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (11364 HS). Livingston was arrested for Carrying a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle (25850(a) PC).
Both suspects were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail.
