Calaveras Deputies and First Responders Dispatched to an Airplane off the Runway,
Calaveras Airport, San Andreas, CA
On November 3, 2025, at about 12:50 P.M , the Calaveras County Dispatch Center received reports that a single engine airplane had left the side of the runway into a field, causing injury to the pilot.
Upon arrival, deputies and first responders located the airplane on its roof and immediately began administering first aid to the pilot and solo occupant, who sustained moderate injuries. Deputies learned that the aircraft was attempting to take off when it ran off the side of the runway. As it left the runway, it struck large rocks, which may have contributed to the aircraft flipping and landing on its top.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified. The investigation is currently ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
