Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to 2020 fatal shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a 2020 fatal shooting incident following an investigation.
On October 25, 2020, at approximately 4:13 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of East 23rd and North Pine Streets in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a shooting victim – 24-year-old Raquan Davis – who was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries. The case was assigned to Detective Sgt. Steven Bender of the Criminal Investigations Division.
In 2025, the Cold Case Unit – including Detective Kevin Nolan, Detective Devon Jones, and Cold Case Investigator Steven Rizzo – continued the investigation, leading to the identification of 30-year-old Desmin Walker as a suspect. On September 29, the case was presented to the New Castle County Grand Jury, and an indictment was returned for Walker.
On October 14, Walker was taken into custody in Greensboro, NC. On October 30, he was extradited to Delaware.
Walker has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
