Structure Fire with Fatalities - Updated 
Early Monday morning, November 3, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Redwood City firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Avenue Liquor Store on Roosevelt Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found the building fully engulfed in flames and immediately began efforts to contain the fire.
During firefighting operations, two individuals were located inside the structure. Tragically, both were pronounced deceased at the scene. This is a joint investigation between the Redwood City Police Department, Redwood City Fire Department, and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.
At this time, the identities of the victims have not been confirmed. Investigators are working to determine why the individuals were inside the building when the fire began. There is no ongoing threat to the public, and the scene has been secured.
