Deputy James Day with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Jessica Helms Huskins of Marion with felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon to Inflict Serious Injury. She was issued a secured bond in the amount of $75,000.
On Oct. 20, Deputy Day responded to a residence in Marion for domestic violence. Upon arrival, Day spoke with the victim who stated he had been shot with a BB gun by Huskins who was inside a bedroom of the home.
The victim was found to have a small hole in his right forearm where the BB was lodged under his skin. Deputies also located the BB gun inside the home.
