Felon Found in Possession of Suspected Narcotics and a Firearm

INCIDENT: Suspect Arrested for Possession of Firearms and Narcotics
LOCATION: 20000 block of Sholic Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Floyd Avery, 54-year-old male, Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
Deputies with the Apple Valley Station conducted an extensive narcotics sales and illegal firearms investigation. The investigation led to probable cause for investigators to serve a search warrant at a residence located in the 20000 block of Sholic Road.
Approximately 403 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm were seized from the residence. The suspected methamphetamine was sent to the Sheriff’s crime lab for analysis.
Floyd Avery was arrested without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.
Avery posted bail and was released from custody.
