Arrests Made Following Burglary Investigation on S. El Camino Real 
After stealing approximately $10,000.00 worth of high-end cigar lighters from a commercial business, two suspects were arrested for second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
San Mateo, CA – On October 21, 2025, at 4:54 p.m., San Mateo Police Department Officers investigated a report of burglary on the 2400 block of S. El Camino Real. Officers spoke with a representative of the commercial business, who stated that, on October 20, 2025, an adult male and an adult female entered the store. While the female, later identified in this investigation as Kiersten Kinser, distracted a store employee, the male, later identified as Dustin Becker, concealed and stole approximately $10,000.00 worth of high-end cigar lighters. Kinser and Becker then left the establishment with the stolen merchandise. Through the course of the investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of both Kinser and Becker for the crimes of second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
On November 4, 2025, at 6:45 p.m., Kinser and Becker were detained during an unrelated traffic stop by another local law enforcement agency in Half Moon Bay. Based on the established probable cause by the San Mateo Police Department, Kinser and Becker were placed under arrest for second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. During a search of Becker’s property, incident to his arrest, lock picking tools were discovered. Kinser and Becker were transported to the San Mateo County Jail where they were booked for their charges.
