On November 5^th, officers arrested a 45-year-old Dublin man in connection with a burglary that occurred at a sorority house on the 2300 block of Warring Street.

On November 1^st, residents of all-female sorority house on the 2300 block of Warring Street reported that an unknown man was seen inside a resident’s bedroom and then fled the house through a rear door at about 6 am.

As officers spoke with others in the house, officers found other women that had seen the suspect in the sorority house as early as 3 am.
When officers reviewed the security video from the house, they found multiple clips of the suspect walking inside and outside the building until about 6:35 am—even leaving, changing clothes and then returning in different clothing as well as a ski mask.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect had stolen food and underwear from a resident’s room and had also watched women shower in the communal shower room.

Using security video footage, detectives with the Department’s Sex Crimes Unit followed the evidence and investigative leads to a possible suspect--Courtney Alford (a 45-year-old man from Dublin, CA).

Using FLOCK technology, detectives found multiple images of Alford’s vehicle in the area before and after the burglary.

Using this information in combination with other evidence, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Alford on November 4^th.

On November 5^th, officers located Alford in the Castro Valley, CA—where they arrested him without incident.

When officers later searched Alford’s Dublin residence, they found parts to assault rifle, high-capacity ammunition magazines, and over 900 rounds of ammunition.

On November 6^th, the Alameda County District Attorneys Office charged Alford with PC 459—Burglary, PC 647(i)—Prowling/Peeking, PC 647(j)(1)—Invading Privacy, PC 29800(a)(1)—Possession of a firearm by a felon, PC 30305(a)(1)—Possession of ammunition by a felon, several counts of PC 602(m)—Unlawful entry, as well as several criminal enhancements.
