INCIDENT: Two Suspects Arrested After Gasoline Tanks Drilled at U-Haul
LOCATION: 20777 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT1: Paul Choquet, 28-year-old male resident of Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT2: Vanessa Lewis, 33-year-old female resident of Lucerne Valley
SUMMARY:
On Friday, November 7, 2025, deputies with the Apple Valley Station responded to U-Haul regarding a male suspect, later identified as Paul Choquet, drilling into the gas tank of a company vehicle to take gasoline.
Deputies arrived on scene, contacted Choquet and Vanessa Lewis, and observed damage to the gas tanks of two U-Haul trucks. Choquet and Lewis were arrested without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center. Choquet was booked for felony vandalism and a probation hold. Lewis was booked for accessory.
A U-Haul employee estimated the cost to repair both gas tanks to be approximately $1,200.
