INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Yucca Trail & Frontera Avenue, Town of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): 81-year-old female resident of Yucca Valley, California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, November 6, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Morongo Basin Station Traffic Divison, responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collsion. The collision occurred at the intersection of Yucca Trail and Frontera Avenue, in the Town of Yucca Valley. The collision involved a 2019 Ford Escape and an elderly female operating an electric wheelchair.
Through investigation, deputies discovered the female in the electric wheelchair attempted to cross Frontera Avenue in a southbound direction. As vehicles were approaching eastbound on Yucca Trail, a collision occurred between a Ford Escape and the female in the wheelchair. The female in the wheelchair was pushed approximately 15 feet east as a result of the collison. The driver of the Ford Escape remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the female deceased. Deputies assigned to M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) and the Sheriff's Coroner Division arrived and investigated the incident. Public Works assisted by setting hard closures on Yucca Trail.
