The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from October 26^th to November 1^st.     

October 26^th
Nothing to report.

October 27^th
Vandalism- 9989 San Pablo Ave(O’Reilly Auto Parts):
At 7:27 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect used an unknown object and damaged one of the front windows.

October 28^th
Residential Burglary – 7700 Block of Potrero Ave
At 4:18 PM, Officers report a suspect forcibly entered a residence and walked out with a bag containing an unknown amount of items.

Attempted Residential Burglary – 8300 Dr of Buckingham Drive
At 5:03 PM, an Officer reports a suspect attempted to enter a residence on multiple occasions.

October 29^th
Commercial Burglary – 233 El Cerrito Plaza (Chef’s)
At 8:56 AM, Officers report a suspect entered the business by breaking a window and took items from the restaurant.

Residential Burglary / Violation of a Restraining Order – 5700 Block of Lassen St
At 3:41 PM, Officers report the arrest of a suspect after they were seen exiting the residence through a window.  The suspect had a restraining order against them which stated in part they were not permitted to be near the residence.  The subject was placed under arrest and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 11048 San Pablo Ave (Harbor Freight)
At 4:34 PM, Officers report two suspects entered the store and stole items.  The suspects left prior to Police arrival.

Public Intoxication – 10058 San Pablo Ave.
At 9:12 PM, officers arrested a subject for public intoxication.  The subject was released on a citation and transported to the hospital due to their level of intoxication.
 
Driving Under the Influence – Carlson Blvd / El Dorado Ave.
At 1:17 AM, officers arrested a subject for driving uder the influence.  The subject was later released on a citation to a sober friend.

October 30^th
Battery – 300 El Cerrito Plaza (Spirit Halloween).
At 8:36 PM, officers responded to a battery of an employee.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Public Intoxication – 600 Block of Lexington Ave.
At 6:57 PM, officers responded to an unwanted subject. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

October 31

November 1
Battery / Public Intoxication – 9901 San Pablo Ave (Chipotle):
At 1:55 PM, officers responded to a report of customers fighting. Store video showed the battery was mutual, but was largely instigated by a subject who was heavily intoxicated.  They were placed under arrest and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft by False Pretense – 500 block of Liberty St:
At 4:41 PM, an officer reports the victim wired money to an unidentified suspect in a rental scam.
