Rancho Cucamonga Teen Dies in Traffic Collision; Cause of Crash is Under Investigation

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Milliken Avenue / Central Park
Driver: Lystra Wilson, a 56-year-old female from Fontana, California
Pedestrian: 16-year-old juvenile male from Rancho Cucamonga California.
SUMMARY:
On November 8, 2025, at about 1:36 AM, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Milliken Avenue near the intersection of Central Park.
A Volkswagen driven by Lystra Wilson traveled north on Milliken Avenue, approaching Central Park. As Wilson approached the intersection, her vehicle collided with a male juvenile, who was crossing the roadway on a motorized scooter. Upon arrival, deputies performed lifesaving measures until they were relieved by American Medical Response (AMR) and the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District. The juvenile was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Deputies J. Cadogan and J. Olamendi from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor, however the exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
