Upcoming emergency no parking restrictions
Beginning on Monday, November 10th at 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the south side of State Street (7) spaces west of South Pearl Street for service vehicles.
Albany Veteran’s Day Parade will take place on November 11, 2025 with the parade stepping off at 11:00 a.m. from the intersection of Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue. The following information explains the road closures, parking restrictions and parade route for this event:
Road Closures:
- Parade Staging & Lineup:
- Starting at 6:00AM, Central Avenue between Quail Street and Lexington Avenue will be closed for parade lineup.
- 9:30AM The Parade Route will be closed to ALL Traffic. The entire parade route will be closed allowing APD to secure the route and assure step off at 11:00 a.m. Henry Johnson Boulevard and Lark Street northbound and southbound will remain open to traffic until 10:00AM. At 10:00 a.m. these two roadways will be closed and the entire parade route will remain closed until the completion of the parade.
Parade Route:
11:00 AM Parade Step Off:
Central Avenue starting at Lexington Avenue, parade will proceed east on Central Avenue to Washington Avenue; then east on Washington Avenue with the completion at North Hawk Street.
Road Closures:
The parade will require the following road closures: Central Avenue from Quail Street east to Washington Avenue; Washington Avenue from Central Avenue east to Washington Avenue/Eagle Street/State Street. In addition, ALL cross streets along the parade route will be closed in preparation for parade kick off.
Parking Restrictions:
November 11, 2025, at 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
For event safety and security, Parking will be prohibited on the entirety of the Parade Route.
- Central Avenue, Parking Lot #4 (Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue) all areas of this lot will be restricted
- Central Avenue, both sides from Quail Street to Lark Street.
- Quail Street, both sides from Bradford St to Sherman Street.
- North Lake Avenue, both sides from Bradford St to Sherman Street.
- Robin Street, both sides from Bradford St to Sherman Street.
- Lexington Avenue, both sides from Bradford St to Sherman Street.
- Washington Avenue, both sides from Lark Street to State Street.
- Dove Street, both sides from Elk Street to Spring Street
- North Hawk Street, both sides from Washington Avenue to Elk Street.
- Eagle Street, both sides side from State Street to Pine Street.
- Elk Street, both sides from Eagle Street to North Hawk Street for Lafyette Park/Parade event
- North side is for event vehicles
- South side is for event handicap parking
Beginning on Tuesday, November 11th at 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the west side of #97 Delaware Avenue south of Mercer Street for a move.
Beginning on Tuesday, November 11th at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on both sides of Lodge Street from Pine Street to Steuben Street for funeral.
Beginning on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on both sides of Beverly Avenue (5) spaces centered on #25 for service vehicles.
Beginning on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:00 a.m. until Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the east side of #10 Bertha Street south of Second Avenue for dumpster.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the following roads for DGS forestry:
-Both sides of Quail Street from #288 to Morris Street.
-The south side of Morris Street from #400 to Quail Street.
The south side of Western Avenue form #250 to #228.
-Both sides of Jay Street from Quail Street to #459.
-The north side of Myrtle Avenue from #575 to Quail Street.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:0 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the west side of 1260 Broadway south of Lawn Avenue for service vehicles.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the following roads for AWD:
-Both sides of South Street from #27 to #31.
-The south side of Colonie Street (5) spaces east of North Pearl Street.
-The north side of Kenosha Street from #121 to #133.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 12th at 3:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on both sides of Second Street (6) spaces west of Hall Place for AWD.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:00 p.m. until Thursday, November 13th at 6:00 a.m. parking will be restricted on the following roads for paving:
-Both sides of Washington Avenue (3) spaces west of Dove Street and (3) spaces east to North Hawk Street.
-Both sides of Dove Street (3) spaces north and south of Washington Avenue.
-Both sides of South Swan Street (3) spaces north and south of Washington Avenue.
-Both sides of North Hawk Street (3) spaces north of Washington Avenue.
Washington Avenue will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction. All Parking (both sides of the road) will be restricted during these hours. Intersections will be controlled by flag persons. Delays are expected and alternate routes are suggested.
Thursday November 13, 2025 starting at 7PM through Friday November 14, 2025 at 6AM - Washington Avenue will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction. All Parking (both sides of the road) will be restricted during these hours. Intersections will be controlled by flag persons. Delays are expected and alternate routes are suggested.
Saturday November 15, 2025 starting at 6:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., Washington Avenue will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction. All Parking (both sides of the road) will be restricted during these hours. Intersections will be controlled by flag persons. Delays are expected and alternate routes are suggested. In addition, South Swan Street between State Street and Washington Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
