Dense Fog Advisory until 11:00AM Sunday

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...Palmer, Wasilla, Butte Birchwood and parts of Anchorage.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As of 430 PM, areas of locally dense fog have developed across eastern Anchorage and northward along the Glenn Highway to the Parks/Glenn Highway Interchange, including Eagle River, Birchwood, Chugiak, and around the Knik River Bridge. This area of fog may continue to expand west, covering parts of JBER and downtown Anchorage before morning. Below freezing temperatures will allow for slick spots to develop along roadways, especially over bridges and overpasses. These areas of fog are expected to linger through late morning.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ANCHORAGE ... LOWER MATANUSKA VALLEY

Instructions:

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks and roadways causing slippery conditions.
