Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges.
On November 7, at approximately 9:36 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street when they observed a male subject engaged in drug-related activity. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual, at which time he fled the area on a motorized scooter. A short time later, police took 28-year-old Rasheed Patterson into custody without further incident. Patterson was found to be in possession of 1.56 grams of heroin.
Patterson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Resisting Arrest
- Illegal Operation of a Motorized Scooter
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $13,000 cash-only bail.
