  Narrative:

On November 9, 2025, at approximately 10:32 a.m., Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies responded to a reported family disturbance in the 2500 block of Hickory Wood Lane, involving a male suspect and a female victim. The relationship between the suspect and the victim is that of a mother and son.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted the suspect in the common area of his apartment complex. As deputies attempted to detain the suspect, he abruptly turned and struck a deputy in the face, causing a minor injury. A struggle ensued, during which time additional deputies responded and successfully took the suspect into custody. During the altercation, a second deputy sustained a hand injury. Both deputies were treated at Los Robles Hospital and later released.

Deputies subsequently entered the residence and located the female victim, who had sustained a stab wound to her back as well as multiple lacerations to her face and head. The victim received on-scene medical treatment from Ventura County Fire personnel and American Medical Response before being transported to Los Robles Hospital for further care.  The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening and were treated at the hospital.

Detectives from the East County Major Crimes Bureau responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility. Their investigation revealed that the suspect had stabbed the victim multiple times in the head, face, and back before fleeing the scene. The weapon used in the attack, along with additional evidence, was recovered from the residence.

Goldstein was arrested for 664/187(a) PC – Attempt Murder, 69(a) PC – Resisting and Executive Officer, 243(c)(1) PC – Battery against a Peace Officer causing Injury.  Goldstein was medically cleared and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.  Goldstein is scheduled for arraignment on November 12th, 2025, at 1330 hours.
