Anticipated End of Shutdown & Resuming Operations
LOWE Team,
Congress is expected to vote on the continuing resolution (CR) package this afternoon. The measure is anticipated to pass, and the President is expected to sign it later in the evening.
As a result, we expect normal operations to resume on Thursday, barring any last-minute changes. If you would have normally been scheduled to work on Thursday, November 13, you should plan on reporting as scheduled. If tomorrow would be a normal lieu day for you, then you should report on your next regularly scheduled work day. If you have any questions about the day or time you should report, get in touch with your supervisor.
If you need to take AL, SL or another type of leave, please communicate with your supervisor. Please do so even if the leave had been previously approved so there is clear communication.
On Thursday, we plan to open the Boott Museum to the public from 10:00 to 4:00 and the Mogan Center from 1:00 to 4:00 with trolley service TBD. The visitor center will be open weekends only. We will update the website and send an email with complete information about 2025-2026 off-season hours in the next few days.
Scheduled school programs will resume on Monday, November 18.
A reminder that the Boott courtyard is still under construction. Follow the designated pedestrian path and be aware of your surroundings. Most of us are also out of practice for our commutes. Be safe as you return to Lowell.
I will send another Nixle once the CR has been finalized and signed into law. However, if that doesn’t happen by 9:00 pm, the Nixle will not be sent until early tomorrow morning.
Thank you for your patience and professionalism as we’ve navigated this period of uncertainty. Looking forward to seeing everyone and being back at the park!
Julie
