Incident: Arrest Made for Drunk Driving, Reckless Driving, and Resisting Arrest
Occurred Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025
Occurred Time: 11:33 p.m.
Location: 905 East Washington Street
Suspect: Hector Reyes (age 18, Petaluma Resident)
Suspect: Sergio Mazariegos Reyes ( age 20, Petaluma Resident)
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Petaluma Police Officers responded to 905 East Washington Street to investigate a reported disturbance. When officers arrived on scene, they were advised by individuals in the parking lot that the people causing the disturbance had already left the area.
Officers then heard a vehicle on Ellis Street rapidly accelerating and observed a dark blue BMW traveling southbound on Ellis Street. The vehicle made a sudden turn, causing the driver to lose control and collide with a curb. As officers approached the vehicle on foot, the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers later located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Ellis Street Apartments.
When officers approached the vehicle, they located the driver—later identified as Hector Reyes—and detained him. The passenger, later identified as Sergio Mazariegos Reyes, fled on foot. A short time later, a PPD officer located a male matching Sergio Reyes’ description and detained him.
It was determined that Hector Reyes was under the influence of alcohol while driving. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, resisting or obstructing a police officer, and driving on a suspended driver’s license. Sergio Reyes was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for resisting or obstructing a police officer.
