Survey - Curbside Leaf Collection
The Village of Pelham Manor (Village) provides refuse collection services to the community. There are many types of materials that are collected throughout the year, including leaves. For most of the year, leaves are collected with garden refuse. However, twice a year there is a specific curbside leaf collection service. For two months in the fall (October 15-December 15) and one month in the spring (March 15-April 15), leaves are collected curbside and currently need not be in bags.
The Village is dedicated to collaboration and receptive to feedback. Many residents have reached out to the Village requesting that leaves are bagged for collection in the fall and spring. Those who have reached out have voiced concerns about roadway safety and stormwater conveyance. The Board of Trustees is considering a change in policy for curbside leaf collection. The potential change would require leaves to be bagged when they are placed curbside during the fall and spring leaf collection.
We have created a survey to hear directly from the community at large. Responses will be collected from Wednesday, November 12 to Wednesday, November 26.
