1. Weapon Arrest (1543) 8000 Block of North El Dorado Street, Bear Creek District
Officers responded to the area of the call location on a report of a disturbance involving a subject with a firearm. Officers located the suspect and attempted to detain him. The suspect fled on foot and discarded a firearm. Officers located and arrested the suspect and recovered the firearm. ARRESTED: Donovan Smith, 24, for resisting arrest and weapon charges.
2. Battery on an Officer (0339) 1200 Block of North California Street, Civic District
Officers responded to the area for a subject who attempted to enter a building and refused to leave. Officers attempted to detain the suspect for trespassing, and the suspect pulled away. Officers took the suspect to the ground, and the suspect kicked an officer several times. The officer was not injured and remained on duty. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for a pre-existing injury. ARRESTED: Paul Brown, 34, for trespassing and resisting arrest.
