Several People Transported to Hospital after Explosion Occurs at a Home in Chino Hills



DATE/TIME: November 16, 2025 / 3:43 p.m.

INCIDENT: Residential House Fire

LOCATION: 4200 block of Sierra Vista Drive, Chino Hills

VICTIM(S): Confidential 


SUMMARY: On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 3:43 p.m., deputies from the Chino Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Sierra Vista Drive for a reported house fire. Personnel arrived and determined an explosion occurred inside of the home and several of the surrounding residences were damaged. 

Three adults and six minors, between the ages of six and fifteen years old, were inside of the residence and suffered varying injuries.  All parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment.  An earlier call for service to the home is unrelated to this case.  

Residents in the affected area were evacuated but were permitted to return to their homes at about midnight.  Sierra Vista Drive between Del Norte Avenue and Descanso Avenue remains closed to through traffic while utility crews evaluate infrastructure. 

Investigators form the Chino Valley Fire Department are working to determine the cause of the explosion.
